This is the Ed Mellow swing band. The picture was taken around December 1979. Jim Dunlap said he thought it was taken at the Roseland Ballroom, but I think it was at the East Taunton PAC. It snowed that night and it was a slip-and-slide drive home at 1:00am
Joe Rose (left) and Joseph Amaral (right). I would guess in the 40's

I believe I can recognize Ed Camacho on "peck horn" and Leo DeMello on sax. I will guess mid to late 50's

This looks familiar. That's me (4th row left). You can see Joe "Papia" just off my right shoulder. From left to right: Dave Burgess (trombone), Ed Camacho (Eb Alto), Joe Rose (Baritone), Dave Bilodeau (trumpet), David Mello (trumpet), Joe "Papia" DeCosta (cymbals), and Bill Kone (trumpet). I can't identify the sousaphone but the 1/2 trombone player is Larry Rose. I would guess late 70's
