June 12, 2005. Holy Ghost Feast, Saint Joseph's Taunton MA.

Like last year this was all processional marches. We played four marches each way and then Son's of The Brave at the end. The Fall River Portuguese Band was also There this year. Mass was at 10:30, we waited a little over an hour, and we were finished at 12:15.

July 4, 2005. Block Island

A couple of changes from last year. The parade started an hour earlier and we were placed as the lead band. This meant that we finished early. That was the good news. The bad news -- We were requested to play "Over There" coming into the last turn and then play "Stars and Stripes Forever" finishing up on the waterfront. Once is fine. Twice is ok but over and over again can become a bit tedious. The weather could not have been better. It was a little cool and foggy when we boarded the ferry in Pt. Judith but it was sunny, dry and the mid-eighties on block Island for the parade. We played a brief concert after the parade then caught the 4:00pm ferry back.

July 10, 2005. East Taunton Holy Ghost Feast

Another hot East Taunton parade. although it wasn't quite as hot as last year we all felt it by the time we reached the church. Take a look at picture 18. I wonder what that gas price sign will say in 10 years?

July 17, 2005. Bridgewater Nursing Home

This was our third year at the Bridgewater Nursing Home. The sun managed to stay hidden most of the concert but it was still very warm. As you can see from the pictures the band enjoyed the cold drinks and snacks provided by the nursing home during the break.

August 2, 2005 Caswell Grove.

The first year we played at the Caswell Grove there were a few rocks in a circle in the court yard. Now the growth is so thick most of the ground level seating is obstructed

August 10, 2005 Fitzsimmons.

This is the last consert of the season. It also marked the 60th year that Lou Perry has been with the band. After the concert we all went inside for 60th year celebration cake and ceremony.

August 21, 2005 New Bedford Birthday Party.

For the first time that I remember in my 43 years with the band, we were contracted to play a birthday celebration for the sponsors nephew. We met in a bank parking lot about 1/2 mile from the party. The sponsor led the parade in a small 3-wheeled car. We paraded to the boy's house then paraded around the neighborhood and finished off at the boy's home. We had some refreshments then played a few tunes and that was it.
